First Aid and CPR Workshop
First Aid and CPR Workshop Held at FAIPS (DPS) A First Aid and CPR Workshop was organized at FAIPS–DPS by the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) represented by Dr. Linda Khalid on Wednesday, 18th October,2019. Dr. Linda Khalid, a prominent clinical pharmacist currently working with the Ministry of Health who is also a volunteer with the KRCS, organized a presentation and conducted an interactive session with over 200 students of grade 11 to educate them about Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), a technique that has saved millions of lives in a variety of situations. This event was the first step of an initiative undertaken in setting up a First Aid Club in the school which has been reinstated after a gap of nearly 6 years. A special workshop was held for a group of 20 students of different grades forming a core committee of the First Aid Club, who were given hands-on training to perform CPR in emergency situations. Abhay Chandra, a student of Grade 11 who is also a certified Boy Scout of America was instrumental in organizing this workshop. FAIPS-DPS has always believed in education beyond books and to imbibe practical knowledge. During the interactive session, Dr. Linda conducted a quiz and rewarded students who gave the right answers with prizes. The students left the event as well-informed citizens, all prepared to act as responsible adults in emergencies and armed with knowledge that could save someone’s life.
